The Republic of Cameroon, located in Western Africa, has more than 200 diverse racial and linguistic societies and English and French are its official languages. Cameroon is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. The economy of Cameroon heavily relied on agriculture before the petroleum industry and it still does contribute significantly towards the economy and, thus, offers employment opportunities. Main crops include coffee, rubber, bananas and palm products. Main industries of the country include petroleum production and refining, food processing, textiles, aluminum production, light consumer goods, lumber and ship repair. |
